What is sugar bears?

Sugar bears, also known as sugar gliders, are small marsupials native to Australia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. They are called sugar gliders because of their ability to glide through the air using a membrane between their front and back legs called a patagium.

Sugar bears are about 5 to 7 inches in length and weigh between 3 to 5 ounces. They have furry, wide-eyed, and round-eared faces, with soft fur that come in hues of grey, black, brown, and cream-coloured patches.

As pets, sugar bears require a specific diet that is high in protein and low in fat and sugar. They also need large cages with plenty of room to climb and play, as well as constant socialization and interaction with their owners to prevent boredom and loneliness.

Sugar bears are nocturnal animals and are active primarily at night. They are known for their energetic and playful personalities, forming strong bonds with their owners. Despite their small size, they can live up to 12-15 years with proper care.
